Veterans Voices First
"After the War: Oral Histories, Veterans Narratives, and Community Collaboration in Public Humanities" is a public digital humanities project currently being piloted by Cassie Tanks, an aspiring librarian-archivist and World History PhD Student at Northeastern University.
This project will create a space for veterans who served the U.S. military to share their experiences and contextualize memorials of war through recorded audio stories for the wider public. It will also work with community and undergraduate historians to uplift the stories of veterans of early 20th century wars through primary source documents and research.
These stories will be made available on this site, afterthewarproject.org, and associated Omeka sites managed by key community partners.
Project Collaborator Sites
"After the War" is proud to partner with collaborators who have long histories of uplifting their communities and the stories that fill important gaps that have been forgotten, or systematically minimized, in the prevailling historical record.
